Ian Baguley – Percussion

2009 – 2012 & February 2026 – Present

Ian started playing the drums at Warren Wood Primary having lessons at the age of 7 and joined the brass band in year 6. Ian joined Stockport Schools Brass Band and Poynton Youth Brass band until 2008.

In 2009, Ian was asked  by an ex SSBB player to help out Flixton Band at the Areas in March and decided to stay until 2012 when he left the Manchester area for university.  

After a long break from the band, Ian assisted Flixton in 2024 to help with the Areas once more! At Wychavon the same year Ian won the ‘best percussion’ section award alongside Tris, Lesley and Connor. This had been a dream of his since he started contesting with brass bands.

Ian joined the band again in 2026 bringing his bias for kit and auxiliary percussion to the section.

Outside of band, Ian lives a busy lifestyle working in the Construction and Events industries while enjoying the great outdoors in his free time.
