The band competed at the Blackpool Winter Gardens yesterday in the First Section of the NW Brass Band Championships. We performed our interpretation of Andrew Wainwright’s ‘Variations on Was Lebet’.
The adjudicators found much to admire and placed us 8th overall, our best result in several years. Our congratulations to the winners, Haydock, and the other bands that will go forward to represent our region in the National Finals.
We also said farewell to our stalwart, Dave Hardman. After many years alternating between Solo Cornet and Eb Bass, Dave is taking a break from banding. We all very much hope he will stay in touch.
