Flixton Band are delighted to announce the signing of some new players to strengthen the band.
They are: Sarah Gough - Baritone, Danny Heyes - Percussion, Duncan Silcock - Tenor Horn,Tom Chester - Trombone, and Katy Tyson - Cornet. Musical Director Kevin Gibbs commented "We are delighted with these signings, all of whom will be valuable additions to the band."
Flixton Band are building a reputation for their entertaining concerts, and are entering a busy period, A number of engagements are booked, and there are some exiting projects ahead, including the recording of a CD at the end of the Summer.
Flixton Band continued their prize-winning run under the guidance of popular MD Kevin Gibbs last Sunday, by taking third place at the Rhyl Entertainment Contest.Competing in the Second Section, Flixton were placed 3rd overall, and also won the prize for the best Percussion section. The prize-winning Percussion team were: Dan Hayes, Andrew Lockett, and Jenny Patel.
Kevin said "I am delighted with the progress being made by the band. The level of competition at Rhyl was particularly high, and the result marks the next phase in our development plan."
