Solo Euphonium- Andy Tyson

Andrew started playing the horn aged 7. He then transferred to euphonium aged 11. Andrew was a member of Stockport Schools Brass Band. He has previously played with Kingsway Brass and joined Flixton on Solo Baritone in December 2003 after guesting on Eb Bass at the St Helens Contest in November. In March 2004, Andrew moved to the 2nd Euphonium chair and after comencing studying music at Salford University in 2005, successfully auditioned for a place in the Salford University Brass Band, on 2nd Euphonium. Having impressed everyone at Flixton Band with his continued progress, Andrew was invited to take over the Solo Euphonium position in October 2005. He is now establishing himself as a player of great potential, and has settled well into his new role

Andy is a keen sportsman and also plays the piano and guitar.
