Principal Cornet- Leisa Mallalieu

Leisa started playin tenor horn aged 9 at kingsway high School. Aged 15 she switched to cornet and joined Stockport Schools Intermediate band on front row. She quickly progressed into the senior band after just one year of playing the Cornet!. Leisa has previously recieved tuition from Peter Hadfield and Liz Goodall and is currently taught by Brett Baker, the well known Conductor and Solo Trombonist at the Black Dyke Band. Leisa is in the final year of her A levels at Aquinas College in Stockport studying Music, Psychology and English Language. She has had opportunities to participate in workshops with bands such as black dyke, leyland and ybs and, now with the taste for banding, hopes to further her studies by taking music at University next year.

Leisa joined Flixton Band in December 2002 on 2nd Cornet... less than 1 year later she has taken the top chair... well done!

Leisa's most memorable
banding moment:

"In Feb 2003 Stockport Senior Band won the National Youth Championships of Great Britain. When the results were announced the whole band went absolutly bonkers jumping over seats- definately my most memorable moment!!!"
