Principal Cornet- Katie Tyson

Katie started playing at the age of 7 on the horn. She then transferred to cornet a year later in primary school, and was taught by Dennis Hadfield. When Katie reached High school she was moved onto soprano cornet. After 2 years Katie released that soprano was not the instrument for her and moved back onto cornet. In 2002, at the age of 12, she joined Stockport School's Brass Band. Katie joined Flixton in 2004 on 3rd Cornet. Katie proved a massive asset to the band and moved to Principal Cornet in time for the Pontins Contest in 2005. Katie also plays the piano.
