BBb Bass- Amanda Poole

Amanda started her musical career at the age of seven when she started playing the piano and violin. It wasn't until the age of 14 that she began to play the tenor horn, firstly under the tuition of Sarah Wheeler and then Kate Williams. Throughout her secondary school life she was involved in all aspects of the music department from singing in the choir to conducting the training orchestra.
Outside school Amanda played with Sandwell Youth Music, originally playing violin in the orchestra and then moving to the brass band on tenor horn.
After leaving school her previous job involved lots of moving around the country, this resulted in her playing with a few different bands. Starting off with the City of Birmingham Brass Band she then played on and off for a few months with Brighton Brass before moving to North Wales where she joined the Rhyl Silver Band. She then moved again and played with Grimsdyke Brass in North London.
Amanda eventually settled in Flixton in Sep 2004 and discovered Flixton Band was just around the corner, so decided to come along! Since then she has enjoyed and is still enjoying everything she is doing with the band and hopes to stay around for some time.

Amanda's most memorable
banding moment:

"When I, alongside fellow City Of Birmingham players, played at my friends Kay and Paul Speed-Andrew's wedding - it was beautiful"
