2nd Cornet- Julie Paton

Julie began playing the horn when she was ten. Six months later, she joined Eccles Borough Band, playing under Wilf Hudson, (Nick's grandad). Julie played with Eccles Band for fifteen years, ten of which were on solo horn. She then moved on to Golborne Band in 1992 on solo horn.

Several career changes followed, which meant that Julie's banding suffered, (as did the brass band movement)! The launching of the film 'Brassed Off' and Julie joining Flixton Band coincided!

The gentleman in the photo below (along with a very young Julie!) is Julie's grandad, Tom, who played baritone with Market Rasen Town Band in Lincolnshire. Tom encouraged Julie to take up banding

In March 2004 Julie married, Tim who is also a member of the band.
