Flixton Band

Contest Reports- St Helens Contest 2003
16th November 2003, Theatre Royal, St Helens

On Sunday 16th November the band travelled over to St Helens to take part in the 2003 Wilkinson Open Championships. Inline with the centenary celebrations all competing bands played a piece of music written by the late Eric Ball. The contest featured an interesting array of Eric's fine work including 'Journey into Freedom', 'Indian Summer' and 'Resurgam'. Flixton took the stage drawn 4th out of 10th Bands. Playing 'Tournament for Brass' the band were placed 8th. Work now begins for the up-coming Regional qualifying contest in March.
